WEEK IN
REVIEW
Today was cold, wicked cold. Snow fell; ice
formed. It was cold within and without, though I was mostly concerned about
the within, and donned a long-sleeve shirt. I'm a survivor.
This is the friday blog entry even though I
am, of course, writing it on thursday night because, well, I'm psychic.
As such, I am now capable of doing Norm's Weekend Wrapup, detailing all the
highlights of whatever parts of the week I still remember! For the others,
I might just make up some stuff. I don't know your own, personal reasons
for getting into the blog-reading world, but I can be fairly certain it wasn't
a desire for greater accuracy in reporting. Here we go:
On Sunday...
...it snowed a bit, and I got sick as the
proverbial dog, forcing a cancellation of dinner plans with my parents. Upon
breaking the news to her, my mother reports that that was too bad, because
she was making a roast. Even now, I do not know whether she actually WAS
making a roast, or just said that to make me feel worse.
On Monday...
...I colored this month's EGM strip, and
subsequently forgot to send it in. Work was resumed on toning the pages for
issue 8 of the comic book. I note that the toning is taking forever; I resolve
to streamline the process.
On Tuesday...
...I do not have any memory of tuesday, whatsoever.
On Wednesday...
...I watched the horror movie "Slither." I
liked it, though I found the last half-hour rather on the weak side, a condition
that plagues modern horror movies rather like the conscious, wormy disease
depicted in this film. Also problematic were a small gaggle of
embarassingly-obvious CG effects, which were particularly intrusive against
the very-effective practical elements in the film. All in all, the squirmiest
movie since 'Squirm." Squirmier, actually.
On Thursday...
...toning continues. I make a minor
digital-toning-related discovery which shaves maybe five minutes off of the
total worktime per page. I resolve to further streamline the process, before
I go mad. More snow. Watch a special regarding snack foods which depict the
pork-rind-making process from start to finish. It is easily more-disturbing
than anything in "Slither," including acts of cannibalism and death by worm.
On Friday...
...Because -- as of this writing -- the events
of friday have not yet occurred, I dare not set them down here for fear that
advance knowledge of my actions may alter the future actions of others,
jeopardizing the integrity of the common timeline. But I'll probably work,
and may have lasagna for dinner.
Catch everyone on monday!
